"Celebrating the Legacy and Growth of Women's Soccer in Thunder Bay: A Tribute to the TBWSC"
From the OSA:
Thunder Bay Women's Soccer Club
Started in 1981, the Thunder Bay Women's Soccer Club has made a significant contribution to the game of soccer in Thunder Bay not only on the field but off it as well. Its members have worked with local charities to donate spots in its leagues to families who are unable to pay for registration and children's fees. This dedicated board of volunteers have been instrumental in the growth of women's soccer in providing many players of all levels an opportunity to play soccer in the region. They have become a cornerstone in the community by striving to promote the growth of women's soccer and encouraging individuals to reach their potential through education and skill development. As a club, they foster fun, fitness, and friendship - three things clubs in Ontario hold dear.
A comprehensive history of the TBWSC from 1981 to 2014, including newspaper articles, photographs, past league standings, and other archival materials, is available in The History of the Thunder Bay Women’s Soccer Club.
